--The Joy Ride Raffle
A.B.A.T.E. Local 5th The Joy Ride Raffle
A.B.A.T.E. Local 5 puts on The Joy Ride poker run, typically the last Sunday in June. This year it will be Sunday, June 29, 2008. This event benefits Becky's Place, a children's home in Pasadena that is run by Bienvenidos Children's Centers, Inc., a company that operates many such facilities. Proceeds to the raffle will help us contribute more to Becky's Place.
The Raffle prize is a brand new 2008 Harley Davidson Street Glide.

This bike has the 2007 upgrades you have been hearing about, including the new 96 cubic inch motor, the 6 speed transmission and more. Check out the details of this great bike at Harley Davidson's website.
- There will be only 300 tickets available for this bike. That is right, if we distribute all the tickets, your odds are still One in Three Hundred. That is pretty good!
- You may have one ticket for a $100 donation to A.B.A.T.E. Local 5's Joy Ride effort.
Now think about this for a minute. There are a lot of raffles out there where they are offering up a less expensive bike for a $10 raffle ticket. They may cap the ticket sales at 5,000, or more. If you buy $100 worth of $10 tickets that are one in five thousand you have improved your odds to 10 in 5,000, or 1 in 500 for the same $100 investment. Now which sounds better to you, 1 in 500 or 1 in 300?
- The drawing will take place at The Joy Ride poker run after party. This will be held at Eagle Lodge, located are 1603 N. San Gabriel Canyon Rd. in Azusa at approximately 5:00 p.m. That is at the top of Azusa Ave., just before entering Azusa Canyon. You do not need to be a paying participant of The Joy Ride poker run to attend the party.
- The winner does not need to be present at The Joy Ride poker run after party to win. If the winner is not present, they will be contacted the following week.
- If the minimum of 250 donations is not received, then the drawing will resort to a 50/50 style drawing, with the winner receiving 50% of the funds value collected.
- The prize winner is responsible for all fees, including, but not limited to, sales tax and license fees.
